Sent package this morning to CSC. Was hoping to send it last month, but son's birth certificate showed up late.
Included in package were: son's BC, mortgage statements, bank statements, tax returns, electric bills, health insurance showing spouse and son as dependents.

Will update with progress.

I sent everything we had....Son's birth Certificate, New Vehicle Purchase (Title, registration), rental leases, tax returns, joint accounts/CD (3 months each), joint CC, vacation trip docs - priceline packages/boarding passes, Insurance docs, membership cards, season passes to amusement parks, 4 joint bills (3 months each) and tons of pictures.

Seemed pretty excessive to me but sent them anyway. I labelled every section to make it easier for the IO to go through everything.

Received the I-797C for 1 year Extension today. The notice has a date stamp of 09/07. They entered the application into their system the same day the package was delivered to USCIS.

I cannot use it to see Case status though. The Notice says that it can only be seen after the Fingerprinting appointment notice is sent out. It will contain the application number.

Great to hear woodenshoe101 !! May I ask where your local district office is? Mine is Santa Ana, CA and I havent received mine yet.

DO is St. Louis, MO. I can't imagine that the asc here is as busy as any asc in CA.

The asc notice was dated 9/20 by the way, so it took an entire work week to get here. I'm sure you'll get yours soon.

I'm actually planning to see if i can do a walk in biometrics before the 18th as I'm scheduled to be out of town on business that day (if they say no to a walk in, i'll try to change my schedule).

Thanks for the information. Hope you can do the walk-in. It would suck to re-schedule.

September 2010 I-751 filers?

I am new to this board, and wanted to introduce myself and conect with others going through the same experience.

I just mailed petition I-751 to remove the conditions on my husband's status today. My husband and I are very much in love, but still this whole situation makes me very nervous. I must say I can not wait until the day he becomes a nauturalized citizen, when we can put all these forms and petitions behind us. I wish that I had found this forum before now, especially when I was trying to put together all the necessary documents for his case.

When we first filed his I-485/I-131 ect, we went through Catholic Charities in the Richmond area, although helpful, the person helping us file made errors on the form, which substantially delayed his G.C. This second time around we have since moved, and were unable to find such services here in New Orleans. We decided that a lawyer was just way too expensive, so we decided to compile everything ourselves (or should I say I compiled everything myself). Now I am anxiously awaiting the Vermont Service Center to recieve our package and move things forward.

I was just wondering if there are others that filed in September and where you are at in your process? How long from the time they recieved your mailing until your check is cashed or they accept your case?

Also, in reading some of the previous threads, I notice that some people are refering to recieving emails and occassionally text messages. Some people are even mentioning recieving an email confirmation of the VSC recieving their case. I tried to set up an account online, but it is asking for a reciept number. I know that at this point, having just mailed my package today, that I will not have a reciept number. But is there any way to get a reciept number prior to recieving the letter from VSC acknowledging their reciept?

Thanks in Advance for any and all help. Good luck to everyone in their petitions.

Hi Rachael491 and welcome on the board :)

Here is a thread with some more September I751 filers (there are not many)

You will not have your case status number until you receive you fingerprint notice, but you should see your checks cashed in a few days, and your extension letter a few days after that. Fingerprint notices have been very variable in their time of arrival, and probably depend on your local office. There are some folks in the August thread who have been waiting for almost 60 days, while others received theirs 10 days after receipt notice.

Hi Ya'll this is my first post to the Blog! I'm a September filer. "Single" My U.S Wife divorced me last year. Of course i never re-read all the instruction and noticed that i could have filed at any time.

9/12/2010 - filed
9/16/2010 - received I-797 notice of receipt with 1 yrs ext

Nothing else has arrived so far. The one year extension concerned me for a week or so until i came onto this site and saw that it is the Norm to receive this notice.

I hope there is no delay in issuing the visa's, looks like they taking 3-4 months.

I walked into the local ASC this morning. Very friendly staff. They said no problem on the walk-in as long as I was willing to wait until they processed folks with appointments. Waited ~30 minutes, then was in and out in under 5.

Check Cashed

I sent my package 9/28/2010
It was recieved 9/29/10
And today 10/4/10, the check showed up on my online bank statement!
Now just waiting on the one year extension letter/fingerprints/ect.

I was wondering if there is a thread that has some of the most commonly used abbreviations? Some of the other message boards I use will have a sticky with a thread of abbreviations - for newcomers like me!

have you guys hired lawyer/attorney for 1-751?

I hired one 2 years ago (paid 1500) and not sure how much would she charge for this?

That's good news. I still haven't received my Bio Appointment letter. :( I will call customer service tomorrow.

Not many people hire lawyers for the I-751. Its pretty straight forward unless you are filing after a divorce.
