I-751 second interview - Quetions

I became a LPR on Sept. 2001 through marriage to a US citizen. I submitted my I-751 in 2003 hoping to remove my conditional residence by 2004, and that they would notify me via mail. They did not approve the case, and instead they decided to bring my wife and I for a second interview. Is it this common? Has this happened to others?

Also, my case is in Charlotte and in December 2004, they scheduled us for the interview on January 14, 2005 but unfortunatelly they canceled my appointment.....what a touch of luck!!!! Does anyone have an idea how long they will take to re-schedule us? What should I do if they take too long?

Why did they cancel??? Same thing happened to someone i know and they've been advised to come back to local office and the officer submitted a stamped request for them to reschedule.
 
Don't know why they cancelled

I wish I knew the reasons why they cancelled. I'll consult with a lawyer as to what to do.
