Hello guys, I'm about to file my petition in early January. I have the following two questions and I was wondering if you could shed some light on:

1. How many supporting docs do we need to supply? I felt that I supplied way too much for my I485...for this time around, I plan to send:
bank accounts
tax return
mortgage
utilities and
Life insurance.
Is that enough? Can you think of other docs?

2. they ask for two affidavits. Is there a template? Anybody is willing to share? Is it Okay for me to have my inlaws to provide the affidavits?

Thank you so much and good luck everybody.

There is no limitation on how many supporting documents one could submit to prove the bonafide/legitimacy of the marriage. USCIS is not limited to one or many. Many times they deny a case for the person who submitted thousands of supporting documents while other times they approve a case for someone who doesn't submit any document except an explanation letter. However, it's always better/advisable to submit as many as documents possible. More you have, more strong the case will be. The main documents are-Rental/mortagage document, life-insurance policy, jointly filed tax-returns and tons of pics together.

As for the affidavits then anyone can provide the affidavit so long s/he is a LPR or a US citizen. Make sure affidavits must be notarized, and it must contain the contacting information as well because INS might call or ask the person to come in person to testify as to what is said on the affidavit. Though it has NEVER happened, but it can.

Here is the link wherein you can find samples of such affidavits and some information on affidavits as well.

Johnny,

That is a good example! Thanks for sharing. Also why don't we have a forum specifically for I-751? it would be a good idea.

I'm not the owner or administrator of this site to answer why there is no seperate forum for I-751. Thus, I cannot answer on it. But I think it's because this board already has so many forums...and I-751 actually connected to family based green card....That's why this site doesn't have a seperate forum for I-751. But I think having a sticky thread about I-751 will be great so that people could get all the information about I-751. I might be able to make a sticky thread for I-751 wherein I could also be able to include only useful and helpful information about I-751 from other threads on this subject.

I agree! Maybe you should suggest it to the owner.

HI,

I am in the process of submiting my husband's 1-751. I am sooo confused. I am going to send in the total about to include the biometric fees, do I still have to send with the application, passport photos and fingerprints or does that get done during the biometric appt?

Also, do I have to send two affidavit letters, is there a template I can use, is it okay if both my sisters write the letter, what exactly does the letter have to include.

Thanks so much for any information, please.
