My husband and I have been told that the INS will question us extensively as we do have hardly any co-mingled docs , no children together, no property etc. There are very valid reasons for this - ie his poor credit, lack of money in general,his ex-wife getting the tax refund when we filed jointly, our ages, the expense of owning property in CA and our own children being named as beneficiaries instead of each other.
Has anyone else been in this situation? I've been told to get letters from people that know us but we are new to this area and would only be able to get them from a few people. What should these letters say?Also I am totally estranged from my family (before I was married) so they have never met by husband. His family live far away and have only met me a couple of times as he rarely sees them.
We do have photos of us together but I've been told we need to have at least 50! We share a cell phone bill, and can show proof of each of us paying the other's bills, and I did used to have him on my benefits until he got his own free ones through his work. He is listed as an occupant but not a co-signer on the lease (again due to his credit)As our interview is in two weeks I think it would look fake if we opened up joint bank accounts, took out life insurance on each other etc.
I am sick with worry over this.Any advice gratefully received.
