I-751 - Expected wait time for new appointment?

I received my green card through marriage, and this spring it was time to file my I-751. On June 4, I received a reply asking me to go to the Seattle office for biometrics on June 11. Since this day was going to be particularly busy at work, I checked the "please reschedule my appointment" box, made a copy for my records, and mailed the form back to the address supplied the next day. (I mailed the letter with delivery confirmation, so I know that the Seattle office received it on June 5.)

It has now been 2 1/2 months since I was supposed to have my biometrics taken, and I have still not been contacted for a new appointment. I don't necessarily care about the process taking a few months, but I am starting to worry that USCIS will consider my application abandoned.

What are common/expected wait times for a new appointment? And what steps can I take to ensure that they did in fact receive my request for a new appointment?

Thanks,

It was not a good idea to mail it back to USCIS. However, if you have a copy, you can still go to ASC and try to get it done if they accept it.
