Hello all, I would greatly appreciate any insight, my situation is very unusual, anyhow I am waiting on an I-730, I am in the US, my wife filed for me, we requested it to be expedited due to (the unusual) service error. apparently it hasnt been accepted, yet my lawyer got an update through contact confirming that "according to transaction history the case should be assigned to an exmining officer within 6 days", does this mean anything---a break. My story is quite unfortunate. I was on my wifes I589 (i filed my own packet also but i was a dependant), they removed me, they dont know why they decided to do so. she was referred to court, meanwhile lawyer filed motion to join and for over a year we were led to believe i was rejoined, but no. wife was granted asylum alone, after another series of actions we resorted to the I730, yet fighting for expedite by including a letter and some relevant dox and here i am, very anxious and frustrated----in LIMBO. for over 2 years i've been here, can't get EAD or anything, was very patient until the hearing, but then things took a different turn, any insight will help with the stress level, thx.

will any of the experienced ppl in this forum please help me out here. i just want to get an idea of how long it could take when they say a case is assigned to an examining/immigration officer, thank u all

So you filed two applications?
You are not suppose to do that. You have to filed joint. Or individual not both.
They probably removed both of your cases.
When did you or your wife filed I-730?
Average processing time is 5-6 months, which excluded background checks. Background checks dependents on FBI

Thank you for your reassurance negbegble, I actually got an update today on my case and they said they have sent it to my local office since it now has jurisdiction over the case. I'm guessing they have probably changed the way they are processing I730s or maybe it has to do with the history of my filings, either way im much more hopeful now, at least i can approach my local office through infopass and try to get the ball rolling, let me know if you have any thoughts around this---do local offices normally process I730s? Thanks again to all

i still haven't heard from TSC or my local office, its been a week only. this is exhausting, they get u all excited and then leave u hanging again. I'm sure they're well appreciated and hailed when everything is over though.
