I am seventeen and I overstayed my visa....help please!!!

Hello good day everyone who reads this. I will thank you in advance for your replies. Getting to the point. I'm seventeen years old and I am a Jamaican citizen who lives with my dad who naturalized some ten years ago. My dad applied for a I-130 in November of 2009 and it didn't get approved until November of 2010 because of RFE. But more importantly i came to the US in March of last year and my dad didn't put in an AOS until this month of July because of financial issues, as a matter of fact it hasn't even reach Chicago as of yet because USPS still has it. But then i went into some deep turmoil when i began to get impatient and went online to read about cases of approved i-485 and found out that some cases were denied and banned because they overstayed. in my case i would be banned for 10 years because i overstayed for more than a year. I was never aware of any extensions that had to be made. But then I found out that there is this form that can help us recover from this disaster but i want to know if we should wait for them to deny the i-485 first then send this form in or do it now and can you explain the form fully. By the way I know what we did was wrong and you are upset about it but please the negativity is not helping the depressed state that i am in at the moment. Thanks

You are an immediate relative of a US citizen. Your overstay will be overlooked during the AOS process.

Did you enter the US legally with a visa? If yes, you have nothing to worry about. As the under-21 child of a US citizen your overstay will be forgiven via the AOS process if you entered legally. You don't need the I-601 waiver.
