I-551 vs GC

I arrived at the US and got my temporary GC I-551 stamped at POE, I haven't received my actual Green Card yet. I already got my SSN .

-Will my GC contain any extra information/number or is it going to be the same as my alien number (A#) ?
- I want to open a bank account will my temp. I-551 suffice?

Sure it is the same A#

You don"t need a or GC or temp GC to open a bank account. However, to open an account you need a passport and make sure that you have the original SSN card with you to link it to the account.

yes, it will. It'll show that you are a resident. Slightly different rules apply to non-residents when they want to open a bank account.
