I-551 stamp into a passport valid for less than 1 year

I would like to know if anyone was able to receive I-551 stamp (permanent residence) into a passport valid for less than 1 year in Boston BCIS office.
 
What do you mean? I got my stamp on 8/4/03 which exactly valids for one year. what is your expectation?
 
I meant that the passport is valid for less than one year.
Can the stamp be put in such passport?
BTW, how long did the whole procedure take

Yes - the stamp can be put on a passport even if your passport is not valid for less than a year. A valid VISA in an expired passport remains valid. Of course - for an international travel you will have to renew your passport from your native consulate.
 
Sorry. I misunderstood. I thought you were asking about the validity for the stamp.

I took about 5-10 min for me to get stamped.
 
I guess my answer doesn't help. You are looking for answers from the people who have their passport stamped at Boston BCIS office.
