I-539, I-94 Send Photocopy or send original?

Instructions on I-539 seems to say to send the original I-94 card
with the application. But I read on a website not to send the original.

Can anyone else confirm to send just a copy?

I would do what the I-539 instructions state and not some website.

I was also told by school's ISSO and by a lawyer to send the photocopy, although instructions ask for original. School also told me that those were the older version of instructions, I don't know if it is true or not, but to be on safe side as triple citizen said one should follow what comes with application packet.

Look at USCIS guidance regarding original documents or not at http://www.immihelp.com/immigration/original-documents-vs-photocopy.html

If USCIS does not bother to update instructions in their form, people should not have to suffer unnecessarily. People need to get correct guidance.

If everything were perfect on USCIS web site, there wouldn't be any need for web sites like immihelp.com, immigration.com, immigrationportal.com etc.
