I-539 for change of status

I am on H1 and I am filing for H4 along with my spouse. This is going by premium processing.

They did not ask me I-539 to fill up. My friends say I must submit that form for change of status.

Is this I-539 required or not for H1 to H4 when filing with spouse by premium processing?

Please advise.

are you on H1 and filing from H1 to H4 Change of status, if yes you need to file COS with form I-539.
what is your spouse status? is she on valid H1 status? if yes your H4 will be approved till the date of his/her H1 status.

Thank you. My spouse is H4 and applying for H1 by premium.
I am H1 and moving to H4 to be dependent on my spouse.
My spouse got job offer and I did not get yet.
