I-485

I am really confused with this issue. Has any one have similar experience regarding marriage during I-485 application?

I got married after I filled I-485. I am trying to bring my wife to the states. My lawyer told me to bring her on F-1 visa because it will be the quickest way for my wife to join me.

On the hand, others are telling me to file form 1-824 (follow to join) for my wife and she will get her green at the same time mine 1-485 is approved.

I want to make the right decision. Has any one been in this kind of situation before? I will please your input. Thanks

There are quite a few people in here with the same situation. In order for us to tell you, you need to give more details, specially, what is your current status? Do you still have a vaild H1-B?

If you still have a valid H1-B, I would suggest you to bring her in H4 right away. If you do not have a valid H1-b, the next best alternative would be to apply for I-824.

I really have no Idea about bringing your spouse on F-1, my lawyer suggest me not to do any of those things as the "Intent" is different.
