I-485

Hi everyone! I just have a simple question, but will make a big difference for me. I am filing on behalf of my husband, the I-485 and all that goes with it. One of the documents I need to provide is the I-134 Affadavit of Support. It's taking a while to get banking stuff and all the information together. Is is absolutely necessary to send the I-134 with everything else or do I bring it with us the day of the interview?

PLEASE HELP. I want to send everything else out and stop waiting around for all this stuff for the I-134. Thank you so much everyone!!!!

:)

My suggestion

CorporateCHic,

I-864 (Affidavid of Support) is one of the necessary requirements for USCIS to process I-485 application. If you don't want to wait then I would go ahead and apply with all the paperwork except this I-864 and wait for USCIS to either send you a RFE or ask you to provide at the time of the interview. Hopefully this will let u buy more time to get your affidavid paperwork together.

I am confused. The packet that I was given at the USCIS office only had the I-134 in it. It didn't say anything about an I-864. What is the difference between the two documents?

Thanks for the answers so far guys!!

Did you pick up the right packet? The spouse petition/AOS would require concurrent filing of the I-130/I-485/I-864/G-325a/I-693. The I-134 was used for spouse petitions back in 1997, but I can't possibly see USCIS still including it in a spousal packet (if a person compiled all the forms for you on the spot, then it's probably human error).

K1 -> I-485 -> I-751 -> N-400

Now filing I-130/I-485 for parent...
