if you are talking about time line, well yeah It will be delayed, remember even if all applicants have same situations they still have different time line, depends on DO and state and all that.
according to my situation and I talked to the immigration, they said I can't apply for interim EAD unless I provide the RFE first, don't forget your EAD depends on the approval of your I-485, and if it is on hold then everything else is pending.

yep i think all we july and early august fillers will have to wait till like august ending before we can really sort thinkgs out... I mean think about it they must be really bust down there.
my friend, if you can't wait which I think I won't be different if I was in your shoes, just call the immigration, they are friendly and they help, I called them around 6 times when I collected my documents and for other issues.

My friend, I'm a computer guy and when I see the case status online, I don't think the site is in its greatest final version, It needs lots of improvements and I think they will improve it at some point.
as you know your docs could be in the different locations that this process involved in (like doc mailed in one place and mailed and processed in different places and then your FP done in another different place)
someone has to scan your receipt as you know by now and update the information that goes to your account online.
there are lots of synchronization between all these different offices and the computer system, considering all the fact of the security that involved in this.
workers have to be trained and adapt to this new system and implement it properly.
sorry to confuse you more but with high security process and different applications and different offices that process them, and one computer system that controls that, it won't be perfect, unless a lot of investment have to be done to move to the electronic version of the applications and the process.
I suggest that you take the online update as an indication to where you at and depend on your mail box for mails directly from them.
