I-485 without a Application Receipt Number

Hi: all
I am a USC in NYC, trying to get my dad the GC.
My dad came to US on B2 visa 6/2002
we filed I-130 in 6/2002, and got a visa number by 9/2002
The we filed I-485 by 9/2002, all we got back is a receite that they took the $255 application fee, But we don't have a Application Receipt Number for I-485 (we did have one for the I130)

Should I be worried about the missing Application Receipt Number for I-485 ?

You should have received a receipt number. Call the national number and initiate an enquiry

Check the endorsement on the encashed I485 fee check. You will find the LIN # there.
