Dear Freinds,

I am the unlucky guy whose case is transferrred to local office after 33 months. From this forum I came to know that there is a big wait for interview dates. However I will appreciate if you can answer the following questions.

1. I had responded to an RFE in April 2004. They requested for EVL and birth certifictae. What could be the reason that my case was transferred?

2. What is biometrics? Is this needed for every applicant?

3.What date do they consider for scheduling an interview, I-485 RD date or transfer date?

4. How can I speed up my process?

I am really frustrated, I don't know after 33 months why they have transfer my case. The only reason I can think of is I bought an house in NJ and wife is working in NJ (I am still working with the same employer in CT).

Please post your responses & experiences.

Thanks,

glb.

Welcome to Hartford
the best thing you can do is in a couple of months take an infopass appointment and make sure they have received your case my transferred OCt 03 they never got it until Aug 04. There is no way to speed up the process, it is taking btween 9-12months from hartford RD in hartford to get interview notice but some have gone sooner I have come to the conclusion it is your luck. you can keep updated in the Hartofrd tracker in this forum.
Biometrics are taken for EAD's it consists of digital picture fingerprint and signature.

Thanks for your reply imawaiting.

Do you know why do they transfer the cases to local offices. Particularly after waiting that long (33 months)?

Usually they transfer for interview if they need further evidence FP, 245I, employment change, I don't understand after 33 months thats a long itme but I know there are people still waiting who filed in June 02 in VSC how can they post it is taking between 365-540 days and transfer you long after the time frame maybe you should try contacting congressman for your area anything is better than nothing I suppose.
