I am right behind you in the line at Dallas local office. Any updates in your case? Early part of this year, I thought the average time to schedule an interview in Dallas office was 4 months based on the feedback in this forum :(

Still no news

Or I guess no good news. My attorney followed up and was told basically that they'll get to it when they get to it and not to bother them (dallas office guys) for another 150 days.

I am thinking of following up with the Senator's office. Does it matter which one (Cornyn or Hutchinson)?

JK

Wait another 150 days? It is atrocious

JKP
Whenever I have been visiting Dallas district office to check the case status, I am being told everything looks fine and whenever they start scheduling the interviews, you will be called for interview.
Since Dallas office sent me FP2 notice, I thought they may schedule the interview soon.
If they are telling your attorney not to bother them for another 150 days, it is atrocious
Senator Cornyn's office is quite prompt in responding to our requests for follow-up. I have no experience with the other Senator!

May not apply to transfer cases.

That date of dec 01, 04 is for cases with a receipt date of 12/01/04 or earlier. I am not sure that applies to our cases (transferred on 10/21/04) at all. That maybe a totally different queue. Does anyone know what the I-485 date shown on the processing dates status for the district office means?

Thanks
JK

Inaidu- After your approval were you given a stamp in your passport or given a Visa Regress Section later and are now waiting for a visa number? Are you in EB-3 category?

Interview Scheduled

Understand from my attorney that the interview has been scheduled for myself and my dependents on Sept 28 at Dallas district office.
Inspite of giving address change to Dallas district office and making sure they put it in their system on 3 different occasions, the interview letters have been mailed to my earlier address on Sept 8 and still not received.
My son got a copy of his interview letter when he visited Dallas district office on Sept 12 for getting iEAD.
Following documents have been asked in his interview letter (haven't seen mine yet)
Bring copies of all documents requested below (one set for each applicant). INS cant make copies
- this letter, all passports, entry documents, I-94's(ARR/DEP doc's), Birth Certificates and photo I.D. for applicants/petitioners
- Form I-693 Medical Exam and Supplemental I-693 completed by INS approved Doctor (if not previously submitted).
- Current letters of employment for applicant, Petitioner and Cosponsors showing rate of pay and length of employment.

Dallas interview done;Waiting for visa #

Completed GC interview for myself and family at 3010 N Stemmons FWay, Dallas. Have been told we will get the green card when visa # becomes available (God Only Knows when?)
Went in at around 9:15 am for interview scheduled at 10:00 am but was called in only around 11:45 am. I was told the officers were "double-booked" and did not expect so many people to be interviewed on that day. Persons who brought their attorneys got preference in being called in. I saved $500/- by not taking attorney since mine is a simple case (has been with the same employer who is the GC sponsor). We had come out by 12:25 pm after completing the interview.
The first thing the interviewing officer did was to take our signatures and FP on I-551. I thought for a moment "Is he going to give a pleasant surprise by approving the case irrespective of retro?" But lo and behold it did not happen that way. I was told ours is an approvable case but have to wait for the visa numbers to become available. No more interviews :D Our green cards will find their way to our mail box when visa numbers become available :) Will keep renewing AP and EAD until that time!
The interviewing officer John was very nice. Took only my EVL and last month salary slip. (Had to bring back all the copies of 3 years tax returns; W2 forms etc). Verified personal details for each applicant; Asked whether we had any problems with police and immigration anytime for which we said "no". Later on when I found the officer chatting nicely about retro, I casually remarked the only trouble we have with immigration dept is the tricky green card process with PDs retrogressing backward from June2002 to Jan 1998. He had a big laugh.
He searched our files but could not find any reason why our case was transferred to local office.
Neither could he tell us why we were not called for interview when visa # was available for our PD.
Now I will go to hibernation mode till the retro snow lifts and visa availability sun rises again :)

Received Interview Letter!

Well, looks like things have started to move a bit at the dallas local office. After celebrating the 1 year anniversary of our transfer to Dallas (10/21), we finally got the letter for interview. It is on Nov 15. Officer 3. Let's see what happens. Will still have to wait for Visa availability now. It never ends. If anyone has seen Officer 3, please let me know.

Cheers

All the best for your interview! There is no officer3. There are many officers who are behind door# 3 in Dallas district office. Any one of the officers could be interviewing you.
Moreover interview will be very simple. Please see my earlier post about my interview experience.
Come and join us in the line for visa availability after the interview :)

Interview done on 11/08/2005

Guys,
Yesterday was my interview day at Dallas TX 3010 N.Stemmons Fwy , Our interview time was at 7.30 am , we both reached office at 7:10 am , our attorney came at 7:25 am, Sharp at 7:30 am they called us inside , my attorney is very well know at that office. The officer (lady) was very nice; she already recognized my attorney and said to us that this her first interview for the day, also she said that she did not get time to review our file so she said she will go through with us.
First we took oath , then she asked us are you still both married and staying together, I said Yes, then she asked do you have any kids , I said Yes , I have one, then she asked my son’s birth certificate, I gave original , she looked at it and asked for copy….then she told us so you moved from Kansas, then I said yes on new job, so you not staying with same employer who filed green card, that time my attorney said under ‘180 Day Portability -AC21’ rule he moved to new employer with similar job duties and she handed over rule document to officer that time officer asked for present employer letter (Original), later she asked for 3yrs tax returns ( she checked each year returns) , later she asked for EAD copies and the last thing she asked is our new photos , I said I forget to bring them , then she said its ok we go with old one. Lastly she asked general questions like arrest question, have used any govt. grants and so on………
By 8.00 am she said your cases look good and approvable, she said I have wait for our priority dates. That time USCIS will send your card to your address or they will be contacting you, till that time you should be renewing your EAD and AP. That’s it …….
The last dialogue from her was that you are in safe hands (she was mentioning my attorney) don’t worry everything is fine.

So Now I am in queue for the dates to move ……….

All the best for rest of people ………
