Since all the greate guys like Kashmir, I40takesforever etc got their GC's, its impossible to get the scanned data/graph on time and see how CSC approvals are moving. I think another way to track it is by having a consolidated spread sheet where in we can enter as much details of the cases and monitor the same. I am attaching a sample file. Please update your case details and let us track it and to a certain extent predict our approvals.

The best way to track cases is either:
1. Use the approval thread as a rough rule of thumb, OR
2. Check Pinnacle_Man's thread on the Project Kashmir community project.

I think it would be great if you could organize and take the lead in collecting a group of people who are interested in tracking the progress made by INS. With enough people this process is really easy. Offcourse all the people who have worked on these projects in the past are still around to help. At worst case send one of us a pm, and that person can contact whoever it is that you need help from. (We all know each other pretty well from all the campaigns and meetings).

Thanks for the reply and I know that you and other guys have contributed a lot for tracking the approvals. Also one thing which I noted is that its difficult to get volunteers to do the scanning now a days as everyone hopes their approval date is so near.

So in this scenario I thought that without any scanning done but by just keep updating the xls file (which may need only one or two volunteers to update the xls file daily) we will be able to predict the progress.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
 
*sigh* I agree the dearth of volunteers really affects the ability to scan effectively. Unfortunately there is no solution to that. We have always had that problem. Kashmir was the one person who did everything on his own and required to help from others. Which made it so much easier for him. Unless someone can replicate his effort or atleast find 10 other people who will assist, I don't see any progress on this scanning.

The only solution I can think of is to keep motivating people to join in. I know ruxrux is going to keep scanning until it gets to be too much, if you can find a few others and take the torch from the current group, you will be the next force on the forum.

Personally going by INS's track record, there is always a phase of crests and troughs, right now we are riding high, soon speeds will slack and then sink. At which point people will come out of the wood work to find out what is going on. That is when you will have a host of volunteers to track the system. Hopefully you don't have to wait that long and get some support.

Like I said earlier, there are lots of old timers who will help you if you take charge and request for help.
 
"ruxrux" also got approved - this just shows that the approval speed is still there. As you said, in order to monitor the approvals, some sort of scanning is required.

GUYS - please let me know if we can takeover the scanning job from our senior members before they quit this site totally. This site has been really helpful to a lot of us. We need to continue this scanning to keep alive the spirit of thousands who visit this site.
 
I have to agree to what 140_takes_4ever said.

cashew, I suggest you start participating in the scan we are currently working. This would assimilate you as to what the softwares and tools we use and who does what activities.

I appreciate your effort in this. As time goes, old timers will retire and it can be handed off to new volunteer. This way you wouldn't need 10 new volunteers to start the work.
