I-485 to wrong service center(NSC instead of TSC)

My company is based in Michigan and most of the GC processing is done in NSC. My labor in Florida and I filed I-140 in TSC in July 2002 and waiting for approval. I sent the documents for I-485 for concurrent filing to attorney and I was told that it was sent on 09/29/2002. So far my check didn't clear (which I issued for INS fee). When I called them that they are telling that the immigration person in my company sent it to Nebraska Service Center instead of Texas. My attorney is telling that as soon as he gets the I-485 documents, he will immediately send it to TSC.

Here are my questions:
1. Any of you have similar experience?
2. Will NSC reject the application before issuing Recepit Notice and send back to my company or will they issue receipt notice?
3. How long it will take to send back if they decide to reject the application before issuing notice based on the sent date 09/29/2002?
