Hello,

Me and my wife are in the final I-485 stage. We
both have pending EAD and AP applications also.

Is it advisable to move to a new address, i.e.,
change addresses? if so, what should be done?

Or is it advisable to stay in the same apartment
until the I-485 is approved?

Thanks in advance,
kuti.

Mailing Address

kuti,

Is it possible for you to change to a friends mailing address?
It worked very well for me. All my correspondence came to my mailing address, although i moved few times and filed AR11s for the residence addreses.

INS sends return servifce requested mails, so you need to spend enough time to make sure the changed addresse is in the system..

Regards,
Gopal

It is advisable to stay in the same apartment till you get your approval unless it's a must.
If you change your apartment, you have to update your address in USCIS. Sometimes you will get all letteres to your new address or sometimes they will send it to old address .If it is returned by post office, then it's a big process to get it back. This all happened to me But i had no choice. I had to move.

If you change your address, you have to do the following.

1.Send AR-11 form
2. Call 1-800-375-5283 and inform your new address. They will say that you will get "Change of address" confirmation in your new address within 30 days. If you do not get that confirmation, again call them and give the new address.I did twice and the second time i got that confirmation letter. they will send the confirmation letter for you (Primary Applicant) only, not for your spouse. So do not panic.

That's it.

Consult with some other people also. This is just my experience.
