The I-485 processing is extreeeemely slow in the last few weeks. Many people are complaining BCIS for lack of efficiency. That's understandable. I am also frustrated with this seemingly everlasting process.
However, think about the issues DHS is facing. They cannot afford to make one more mistake by issuing a visa or GC to another future terrorist. It is the same that we will not open our door to outsiders if we know some of them will try to harm our family. They (DHS) are also frustrated with mountains backlog application that they cannot clear quickly. They are even more frustrated that they know there are a few bad apples in the whole basket but cannot easily identify them.
There are rumors that some terrorists are plotting more attacks both in and outside US. Can we blame DHS for paying more attention to and diverting resources to deal with these threats? We are victims more of terrorism than of government bureaucracy.
