RD 8/24/02, ND 9/27 case WAC-01-292-*******FP march end still waiting for Approval. Anybody else in the same boat. Spoke to the IIO a week ago and she told me that the security check is not yet complete. Any Idea how much time it will take to get the approval.

Security Check?

What is security check? I thought that was a part of FP process which is done at the FBI, which takes note more than 3 weeks. Kindly enlighten me.

It is a technique used by the INS to show to people that the US of A is getting better prepared to lock terrorists out without actually doing anything. It involves putting files on the shelf and waiting for the applicants to get older...

Seriously, I have heard of FBI FP checks, IBIS checks; have not heard of INS sending any inquiries back to consulates for background checks. maybe thats the next step...
