I have received RFE for my I-485 from NSC, (1)They are asking present copy of I-94, (2)submit copies of school recoreds which indicate names of your parents, and it is also saying If applicable , include a copy of all petition/application approval notice (form I-797) issued to you by this service granting extensions of changes of nonimmigrant status....what is form I-797 and what approval notice.....Thanks

I had similar RFE. You need to provide evidence that you had either H1B or EAD with out any gap.
I797A is H1B approval
I797D is EAD approval

Req for Info

Friends,

I had changed my addr, about 1 yr back, filed AR-11, and also asked to change the addr on pending 485 apps for me and my wife.My I-140 got approved during that time and my lawyer got the copy.

BUt, I recently checked 140 status on web and it said, that "post office returned the notice that v sent on July'03"

Last, week I checked with customer service rep regarding that and found that they still had my OLD addr on my 140 and 485. BUT, had recent addr for my wife's 485. I requested them to change the sme on my 485 and approved 140.

NOW, today, the status on my 485 and 140 has been updated as

"On September 29, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283"

Can anyone pls, throw some light abt what this might be?

Thanks much in adv,

V

INS do not mail I-140 approval notice to the beneficiary. It goes to your lawyer with a courtesy copy to the sponsoring employer. Your address at I-140 stage doesn't matter. As for I-485, it does happen sometimes. That message could be an indication that they got your request for change of address over the phone but it could also means anything else or nothing. The best thing is to write a letter to the correct PO Box address of that service center. Each service center has a particular address where they receive change of address requests. Check that at INS website. Also file AR-11 at the same time. Recently I called the INS and also wrote a letter. They updated it within a month.
