I-485 Receipt notice delay

Hi,
I sent my wife's I-485 packet to Chicago Lockbox on 08/25 via USPS and it was delivered on Monday 08/27. But I haven't got a email/SMS/Receipt notice yet. its been almost 2 weeks now. Check is also not yet cashed.
Basis of eligibility was - spouse of a US Citizen. we already have a approved I130 that I attached with the packet.

Last time when I filed I 130, N 400 to USCIS, i always got an SMS/email within 2 days that the application has been received and accepted. but this time - nothing for 2 weeks.
I am getting nervous now. I know that there is a delay in issuing Receipt notices for I-129 but nothing about such delays for I-485.

Is anybody else out there going through the same thing. is this normal? or does this mean that the application packet is rejected and is probably going to come back.

Please advise.

When we applied it took about a week and a half to get the email with the receipt numbers and another week to get the paper receipts in the mail.


Don't forget there was a holiday within the last two weeks, so that could delay things a day or two.

Called USCIS Customer Service center today

I called USCIS customer service center yesterday afternoon and told them that I haven't received anything yet and it has been more than 15 days since I sent the application for I485, I765 and I131

Lady on the phone told me to wait for a few days or go to local USCIS office to inquire about this. When I told her that I cant even make an infopass appointment without a Service Request ID or a letter that I need to do - she was like 'Just wait for a few more days then go to local office'. She just wanted to hang up the phone somehow without giving me a satisfactory response.

Surprisingly, I got 3 emails in the evening about the Receipt numbers of all 3 of my forms. I dont know how or if my phone call helped but I got what I wanted so I am a little relaxed now.

Now waiting for the next step - fingerprinting notice.
