I-485 query soon after I-140 approval.Please Help!

My ND is dec 13th 2003 and I-140 is approved on 07/26/2003. And last update date on my I-485 was chnaged once on 7/26 and again on o.08/02/2003.

And Yday staus on my I-485 was also changed to the following.

On August 2, 2004, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283

Not sure what kind of query this could be.I have not even done my Finger printing. Specially the timing is very bad that we are in last step of confirming our home sale and this came all unexpected. Do you guys see any possibility of 485 rejection? I dotn think this kind of status is displayed in case of finger printing right?

I dont even have the letter yet so dont know what kind of query is this? But is it common to recieve queries on I-485 even before finger printing is done? Web site actually says June 2002 is the processing date.


Please share your experience if anyone faced similar situation?

Cool down man .. dont be so worried ... RFEs in 485 cases can be simple things as copies of additional documents, missing medicals etc. Sometimes they can be like Company's ability to pay etc. But nothing that cannot be justified. So dont worry. Wait for the notice to come. Delay closure of your mortgage till the time you receive the 485 RFE (and that should be soon ...) .. else in my opinion there should not be any issue and you should go ahead with your plans.

I tried calling VSC and they said I will have to wait for the letter to be able to get the details on the query.

I was always under the impression that FP should be done first to be able to look at 485 case.

I have not received my FP notice but got query for my 485 first.This seems out of order to me.

Did you change your employer?

Mine is a similar case and I was scared until I got the notice. I-140 was approved on June 24, on July 17 RFE was sent for I485, no FP notice so far. They required paystubs, future employment letter from sponsoring company, and employment letter from current company. I had changed my job after 180 days into 485 but before the approval of I140. I had notified them of this change, i think that's why I got this RFE.

I haven't changed my job. I have been with the same company. In your case your query makes sense to me why they might have asked for the proofs.

I am guessing as part of pilot program they are processing the the I-140 and I-485 together.
My ND is Dec 11th 2003.

What are your dates for your I-140?
