I-485 processing slower in F2A than IR-1?

Hi
I'm a permanent resident and my wife filed I-485/I765/I-131 in early September based on my approved I-130. The AP and EAD have been approved and are in hand. However, we still have not received the interview letter and the I-485 shows no updates since early October, when she had biometrics.

Looking at the case tracking threads on multiple websites most of the IR-1 filers, who make up the majority of the AOS cases in this category, seem to have already received interview letters.

Do they process I-485's in F2A category more slowly than IR-1? Or is my interview letter more likely to be delayed because of the busyness of my local ASC or in adjudicating my case at the NBC?

You need to look at the workload at the local office where you will have your interview as to the reason for any interview scheduling delay. Boise, ID would most likely be faster than New York City or Los Angeles, for instance.

Has your case status changed? Have you subsequently naturalized after filing the spouse's AOS? If your priority date had already become current then processing from that point forward shouldn't be any different. The petitioner's subsequent naturalization would only effect the code of adjustment as the spouse of a USC rather than of an LPR.

There is nothing to indicate your case is slower than usual. September was just 2 months ago. Most people who file as IR wait at least 3 months to get an interview. Yes, a few take only 2 months, but that is not typical.
