Did you get your EAD by walk-in with your I-485 receipt?
Which INS office was it? Don\'t they need 3 month wait for
this process to get from the local INS? Could you let
me know what documents you need together with your I-485
receipt?
Thanks.

I am located in Minnesota. The INS office here did not used to care about the 3 month rule. Things might have changed starting this year as I had heard the rumours that the local INS had been thinking about changing the policy and implementing 3 month rule.

I was asked for only the receipt of I-485 and an amount of $100.00 in check payable to INS.

Very simple process.

Where are u located??

Thanks.

Looking good so far

Gheewlabhai!!!

I am planning to apply my I485 now. I just got my I140 aapproved.
Did you already applied? Please let me know what is needed to file
my I485. In I140 I opted for CP. But, now I wanna swich to 485.
I am planning to go Europe next month. I heard that we should not travel after applying 485. Please let me know what are the consequences??? Thanks a bunch buddy...

they say it is better to apply for 485 than to opt CP because of the condition now.
you should be getting a list for 485 from your lawyer, but mailnly you will
need passport copies, previous I-20 EAD cards, I-94 card copies, birth certificate or
affidavits, marriage certificate if you are marrried, photos, and medical forms completed with
immunization completed. That should take care of almost all.
I am still preparing to file. where are you located?

Awaitapproval and When GC

Guys,
since you guys are already through this I have a question about INS pictures.
you must have taken INS pictures for your EADs. The question is: How accurate does it need
to be?

Mine was taken by a couple of high school kids in a local studio and it doesn\'t match
across millimeter size. They tried thousands of times using digital cameras but could hot do it
exactly. But they and one older photographer was saying they never had a problem with the
kind they have been snapping. It looks perfect otherwise except size inside that widow is smaller
but not too small, almost 4-5millimeter shorter.
I am sending those anyway taking risk for RFE for EAD. What is your opinion guys?
Any of you have thought that hard and looked that clsely? Please help me
and if possible if you have a copy please look at it and let me know.
Thanks a bunch.

May be OK

I went to Sears to get those. They even had trouble getting it right. They got them right in the second try. I didn\'t measure them to see the exact size. I think there is an acceptable range for the size of the pictures.. check the instructions for the photo ..
Good Luck

If you are located in twin cities area, there are places that specialize taking these pictures. I also heard that places like JCPenny or Sears know how to take these pictures.

My papers have not been submitted to NSC yet, but it might happen sometime this week according to my lawyer *fingers crossed*.

Gheewlabhai!!
