Hi Guys,

I am back again with another problem now. As you can see from my signature, I am very near to I-485 approval. But there is one probem and I wanted to get your opinion.

Situation:
1. When I first submitted our 485 (about 2 years ago), my wife was pregnant - so the doctor did not do TB test and Tetanus vaccination stating on the paperwork that wife is pregnant.
2. Now she will surely get an RFE to complete those medical procedures - but she is pregnant again.

Questions:
1. So when she gets the RFE - how should we respond? Whats the best way to handle it?
2. What effect will it have on her 485 processing?
3. What effect will it have on my 485 processing, since I don't have any RFE issues? I am the primary applicant.

Any ideas? Anybody in this situation before?

Thanks!
SK...

As far i know it is ok to take the the TB test even if she is pregnent. If her OB_GYN gives a letter that it is ok to take all the other tests, then the INS doctors will take the test. If she cannot take the tests, i am not sure how INS will respond.

This may not help you much, but I surely know on case where wife (dependent) was pregnant at the time of medicals for 485. They were also expecting a RFE, but got approved without any RFE etc. for medicals.

wrong....doctors dont take chest x-ray if females are pregnant or in other words they will verify when was her last period. You can have TB skin test[PPD].

Tetanus and MMR vaccines are also NOT given to pregnant women as serious defects can be caused to the unborn child.

I was in the same boat

I was in the same boat. My wife did the TB test when she was expecting but did not receive the vaccination. After 15 months, my 485 got approved and she got an RFE asking her to complete the medical form. Her Dr. did the entire medical again. We sent the RFE reply and waiting for the approval.

In this case, I will suggest: Wait till you get an RFE. Once you get RFE, go for medical again. Let Dr. fill the medical form. he is going to write that she is pregnant again. Reply RFE with imcomplete medicals. Wait for new RFE again. Till this entire process is done, she will be ready to complete the medical.

Also most important thing is, USCIS gives you 12 weeks to answer to the RFE.
Play the game with dates.
