I-485 Medical..A gold mine for some!!!!!!

For the past couple of days I have been calling around to get an appointment for a physical to file the I-485. It is RIDICULOUS to say the least. These civil surgeons have discovered a goldmine. What they charge people for a simple physical is outrageous. I thought civil means serving the community, or may be I am wrong and should read overnight millionair. They know you can't go anywhere else, your choices are limited and they apply the supply and demand principle and more. I think when they sign up to be a civil surgeon the government should put a limit as to how much they can charge.
Leaving it all wide open is just not fair. We already have to pay so much for the other immigration related issues.
And my guess is, it's only gonna get worse with all these PD's becoming current. I do not see that many doctor's signing up overnight.

I just got it done for $150 (excluding X-Ray), but heard of being charged as high as $400.

lets hope this misery will come to an end soon
 
Anywhere from $300 to $780. The $780 one told me that you can't get anything done elsewhere. INS rules. So the civil surgeon does everything and takes all the $$$$. I have found one as cheap as $150, but booked till October. They will however have a special immigration physical session in 2 weeks, but the fees will be doubled. That is so much cr$$p. Nothing reasonably priced (under $200 per person) available till october/november around here.
I have everything already done at my own doctor's office. So I only need the physical. Oh and by the way, one excuse they also told me is that you can't get the tests done in advance because from the time you get it done till you see the doctor you might get infected. What are the odds of that happening????
 
Yes, the Immigration medicals are a racket/ripoff. A financial shakedown and an invasion of privacy. Being photographed, fingerprinted, probed disrobed, and having blood drawn seems like a prison experience. It is the hoops you have to jump through. Moving to America is a bittersweet experience. No wonder the Mexs. jump the border..
 
The Mexicans are allowed to jump the border so that the greedy American employers can hire them as slaves for $2 an hour and not pay any taxes and yet threaten them of deportation. Otherwise, how else can one explain the US being the most advanced technologically and financially and yet unable to control its borders and overstays of immigrants. The USA must find itself guilty for the worst kind of slavery in the modern world, both through legal and illegal immigration.....These are my own words...Please do not copy...Thanks.
 
The Mexicans come to America because their own corrupt government fails to provide the opportunity for them to live a good life. I do not believe they work for anyone for $2 an hour. If they are, what does that say for the pay in Mexico? Less than $2 an hour pay?
America fails to secure the border because these guys will eventually vote Democrat en bloc, and Republicans fear this so they look the other way to appear sympathetic. You are correct on 2 points however, employers eluding taxes and they may very well threaten deportation. These unscrupulous employers are a very big part of the problem. Build a fence and build it big. Other countries (including Mexico) do not allow people to enter at whim...
 
We come from far off places for oppurtunity to make a living, make some money, and have a high standard of living. But when someone else does that, we complain that they are blood suckers, we should put a cap on what they can charge...blah, blah...
Once you get the green card, will you make just enought money to have 2 square meals a day? no..you want to make a lot of money, buy a mansion, drive a lexus,screw your current employer...etc
....don't you see the irony...
When you signed up to be in this country, you signed up for capitalism.
 
Capitalistic society is the worse type of society..except for all others..

As for Mexicans and others, got nothin against them, but they must come legally like everyone else, if their plight is bad enough there are special considerations for them anyway (asylum, etc.)
 
Look for my previous posts on medical. I paid $85 for Neighborhood Medical Clinic in Dallas. This was excluding XRay or immunizations you might need. They chart $10 extra to transfer existing immunization records to their report.

I got it done in May, don't know how busy they are now.
 
I paid $100 each for adults and $75 for children and all the doctor used is the stethoscope and nothing else. The PPD, imminization, x-ray were all done by my family doctor.
 
Immigration is sheer exploitation and slavery

I am not from Mexico, but I would like to say this: We are talking about people from other countries now in America. It is the responsibility of the Americans to protect their border and ensure that there is no attraction for the immigrants. How shameful to put the blame on the Govt. of Mexico while the American Govt. just doesn't do anything but encourage illegal immigration and slavery. Read a post by Jackolantern under some other thread to know the actual approach of the Americans. Either the Americans deliberately allow illegal immigrants into their country or they are NOT capable of controlling their borders.

Well, lets see, people want to get into America and somehow it is America's fault. Typical liberal cr$p. As I explained, both political parties seek to gain from the immigration mess. You do not believe the corrupt Mexican government shares any blame for people trying to LEAVE THAT COUNTRY, willing to die in a desert to LEAVE THAT COUNTRY.
If the Mexican government ran a less corrupt and more capitalistic (less socialist) country it could possibly be an okay place to live. You suggest we make things less attractive (I hope you mean we do not hire them)rather than us lowering our standard of living to elevate the noble poor and the liberal whiners...
 
Well Well Well!!

Let the Mexicans worry about their country about what goes on 'in' their country. You or we (meaning Americans) worry about our country and our borders and who is in this country. That is why we have boundaries, isn't it? The richest country in the world for decades together, cannot take care of its country? Its a shame!! We have to protect our own country; and that is the bottom line. I would say implement the laws and bring to justice those who are citizens of this country. If a citizen of this country breaks the law, we can make that citizen responsible for breaking the law, isn't it? A fine of $250 for the employer for hiring an illegal? And thousands of dollars of legal fees and years of wait to award the green card! It is absurd!!

So what do YOU suggest to control this mess? Continue to keep your doors open and let the dogs and cats eat your food and blame it on the country where the species of cats and dogs originated. You don't do anything. Just blame it on somebody else.
 
WOW!! That is quite steep considering that US employers who hire illegal immigrants are fined only $250. No wonder lot of American citizens go to Canada for medicare.

As I stated before, America should not apologize for it's wealth, power and prosperity. It is why so many want to get in. You say let Mexico sort out itself. That is not working out is it?
You suggest I have no solution, I have stated it. Build the wall congress approved and build it big. Put the National Guard on the border until these guys get the message. No other countries allow people in at whim.
Where we agree is that employers should be fined big time for hiring illegals. The news recently has been filled with illegal immigrant raids at factories. This is good, enforce the law and protect this nation. Undocumented illegal aliens can be molestors, serial criminals, traffic hazards and God-forbid, terrorists...
 
I called them they said it would cost $130... But they didn't tell me if i need vacines it would cost more. .. After all I paid $130 + $180 for doctor fee and vacine :(...
