I-485 sent w/o tracking; Can't apply for EAD & AP w/o receipt
I am in a same situation. My lawyer mailed package on June 29th in order to be there by July 2nd. There was no tracking or delivery confirmation taken.
I called USCIS today, and the rep. said "Give us a couple of weeks. CIS asks all Indian applicants to be patient.

I filed my I-458 back in June with TSC, and it was erroneously rejected, they cited the fact that my priority date wasn't current, when in fact, it was, according to the June Bulletin. I refiled on July 5, and as of today, Aug 3, I still haven't heard anything. They also have not cashed my check, either.
Is this the problem you are having as well? When did you file your I-485? Have they cashed your check yet?

July 2nd filing question
My situation is that Lawyer says I-485 appl. was hand delivered to INS at Nebraska on July 2nd morn. They had sent about 300 appls. July 2nd that way to avoid the change of dates fiasco etc.
Now, his office says that INS has not given any receipt for the delivery or acceptance of the hand delivered packages and there is no way to get a receipt etc. until checks are cleared. Since there is no tracking # etc. from fedex we are in the dark about the acceptance situation. According to him none of the packets have been returned either.
Is there anyone else in a similar situation?

Hi All folks,
I personal took a lot of pain by travelling from my place to Linclon, Nebraska. Unless you are an employee, USCIS will NOT even allow to peep through the glass doors. A nice lady at Fed ex local office was kind enough to accept my application for domestic delivery on the same day.
I advise all you folks please make sure if some one says "I/We personally handed my/our/your documents", keep in mind, it is a very sweet LIE.
