I-485 Issues Please Help

Hello everyone,

First post here, I was hoping somebody can shine some light as to what I should do since my attorney is not doing much.

I am married to a US Citizen, we originally filed my I485 back in June 2007, a month after I received my biometrics apt, after that I had my interview in December 5, 2007. Interview went great, office manager even came in with my interviewer and shook my hand, congratulated me and I saw all my papers on my file getting stamped with the "Approved" stamp. There was only one minor issue which was that I forgot a document and the INS Interviewer gave me his direct number and told me not to worry about it to bring it to him personally so I could get my GC in the next 30 days. Well I did and I went ahead and took him that document within 2 days of the interview, he told me I should be receiving my GC very shortly....

Well, 3 months went by and I had no GC, so I decided to call INS Customer Service, which informed me my case was denied... I was shocked, since I didn't receive a denial notice, neither my attorney.

I asked them to provide me with a copy of my denial notice, and they said they would mail it within 45 days. When I received the letter it said that the denial notice wasn't available to make an infopass apt if I wanted more information, so I did. During my infopass apt the INS officer was very helpful and called the main building where my file was located, she had them search for the denial notice, which it was not found in the file, she later told me that my case was pending and it was probably a mistake on the system, that she was going to send an email to the INS officer that interviewed me to get the file updated. She told me to try back in 60 days. I actually waited a bit longer, and sure enough I called INS Customer service to inquire on my case, and they told me that they would mail me an update within 45 days. I just received the same letter I originally got saying that my case was denied back in March 2008. So pretty much I am back on square one, with no answers. My attorney, well I wish I could even speak to him, I always get his secretary that takes care of my file, I think I've met the guy once in my life. Today we scheduled a new infopass apt, and this time he offered to come with me for a $250 fee, I said yes and on Tuesday I will be going to the appointment, but at this point I don't know what to do, please somebody shine some light.

Thanks!

-Alex
