I-485 Interview

Hi,

I just have a couple of quick questions, I have a pending I-485 application and just got notification that myself and my wife is called for an INS interview in about a month... The reason I am posting here is that we submitted our application 4/1/2002 and it seems like this is very fast for an interview (readin the other posts on this web site)... In other words can anyone tell me if this is normal processing time or if I should be worried???

Hello, Is this an employment based AOS or a family based AOS?
If it is employment based AOS, and your employment is in good shape I do not see any reason to panic.

According to some post at this forum, application may be granted right away at interview.

So without further information from you I just assume it is a good news for you. Just prepare youself for the interview.
 
Quite Fast!!!

In normal flow INS just started Oct 2001 cases. As per JIT it is only 07/01. Have you filed AOS only in Apr 2002?

Could you please provide more information - RD, ND, FP details etc. When is the interview scheduled? Is there any employer change or any other issues?
 
Family based I-485

Here are some more details... It is a family based immigration, my wife is a foreign national while I am a US citizen... I submitted my I-130/I-485 April 1st 2002... The receipot date of my application is April 9, 2002...
 
As for RD, ND, FP details etc. I am not familiar with the abbreviations...

The interview is scheduled for 8/20/2002... No employer change within the last couple of years. That's why I am a little concerned... The letter informing me and my wife about the interview only states "Reason for appointment: Application for adjustment of status"...
