Hi, finally I got the interview notice. the notice says I need to complete I-864 Affidavit of Support. But the form instruction says that only sponsor can file I-864. in my case, I petitioned for myself (National Intersest Waiver, employment-based), then who should complete I-864, or I may not need it at all?

The I-864 instruction says that the sponsor must be either a citizen or an alien lawfully admitted to US for permanent residence. And the interview notice also states that I need to provide proof of sponsor's lawful permanent resident status or US citizenship. So I think I donot qualify as a sponsor myself.

another question regarding Medical Exam. the interview notice syas that I need to complete form I-693, Medical Exam (unless submitted at time of filing), so I seems that I don't need to bring another medical exam result with me because I have submitted at the time of I-485 filing. what suggestion do you have about this? I heard that some people always recommended to bring another one. My old one was done in 2001, is it too old?

Thanks

csctransfer: could you also post your experience after the interview? Would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance,
L.

Do not ask. Just bring it!

The I-864 is used for family-based cases. And how can he get his I-864 filled out by a sponsor if he has a self-sponsored petition?

The local offices have no clue how to deal with EB cases.

I agree with RealCanadian, I think I-864 is for family-based, and I do worry that the officer in San Diego deals mainly with family based cases, and if he asks for stupid question like how I do not have a sponsor for my immigration, how I do not provide him I-864, how I can self petition, what is NIW, why I have moved several times to different states, etc, then I may have some trouble here. Do you think I should bring a lawyer with me. I am reluctant to spend hundreds of dollars for some help probably not needed.
