I-485 Interview Fmaily based

Hi,
I got a notice of an I -485 interview recently . My wife is a GC holder and she is sponsoring me for my GC . I already submitted the Marriage certificate , Tax returns for the last 3 years , copy of birth certificates , letter from my employer (because I had to sign the affidavit of support , my wife is unemployed until now ) , I-693 (Medical Exam) and appeared for the fingerprints .
I was on a H1 until I got my v-visa approval and then I applied for my I-485 change of status .
1)Do I need to notify my employer about the change of status ?
2)Do I need to take any additional documents to the interview like
Marriage photos , past bills , lease agreements , bank statements , etc,.
3)Does anyone know what kind of questions may be asked ?

Regarding your questions:
Be prepared for the interview. Bring all the additional documents to the interview like the ones you mention: Marriage photos , past bills , lease agreements , bank statements , etc,. I also brougth a picture of my children and their birth certificate. Once the immigration officer saw my name and my wife's name on the birth certificate, the officer didn't ask anything else and stamped my passport.
They basically look at your application and verifies everything is complete (i.e. Affidavit of Support, Taxes). Also, check the dates/information you said in your application. I don't remenber any hard question. I also was asked by my wife. She is a GC holder.

Now I have a question regarding your V Visa. Does it have an expiration date?

Lexmark,Thanks for your reply. My v-visa had an expiry date of 2 yrs from the day it was approved . (Aug 2004 - Approval , Aug 2006 - Expiry) . The same case with the work permit . It was given to me for 2 years . Please let me know if you have any questions .Thanks again .

I remember your wife was waiting for her citizenship approval. I also remember she was in a similar situation as my wife. My wife (LPR) came back to the US after a trip of 2 years and 2 months (with Re-entry Permit). It was in May 2001. I am not sure if she should apply for her citizenship in May of 2005 or May of 2006. Any advice.

Regarding the visa V, it is a little bit complicated. We have two children (twins). They were born abroad and came here before they were 2 years old. They came in that trip of May 2001. I applied for their V status and it was approved but lost in the mail. I re-applied and requested a copy. They were also lost in the mail (I was so frustrated).

Later, I applied for my AOS and now I am LPR. I didn't include my children in the I-485. My green card was approved in Feb 2003. My wife also submitted a I-130 for my children in July 2001. Any advice...

And let me know if you have more question regarding your application for AOS. By the way, it took 10 months from the time I submitted the initial application until I got the green or pink card.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with the process of GC sponsorship for your kids .
In our case, as you said , my wife was out of the country for 2 yrs and 2 months .
The case details are as follows:

1)Came to US in NOV'99
2)Went back to India in Dec'99
3)Came back in Apr'00
4)She has not been out of the country for more than six months since then .

Since she has been an LPR for more than 15 years she can claim 1 yr out of the 2 years that she has been out of the country . So she applied 4 yrs and 1 day after she returned to US which was in Dec'04 .
Again unfortunately for us the immigration officer who interviewed her found the case too complicated and left it pending(she had been out of the country for periods in excess of 1 year several times in the last 15 years ) . It is still in process now and we don't know what we can do except wait for the decision to be made.

My wife has a similar situation. She has been LPR for 9 years. She had many trips to her home country for less than a year. In that period of time, she got three re-entry permits and the main reason for those trips is that we were married and I didn't want to be here ilegally. Then, I came here once a visa number was available to me. We both are LPR.
