Dear all,
Yesterday (9/2) myself and wife appeared for my wife's AOS interview at the USCIS office in Bloomington, MN (St. Paul DO).
I'm a USC sponsoring my wife (who is on a J-1 visa) for US Permananent Residence through marriage. We got married on April 19, 2009, 4 days after I becmae a US Citizen. My wife's J-1 waiver came through earlier in February 2009 (a long process).
The interview lasted all of 11 minutes. We were ushered in about 20 minutes prior to and were out of there 9 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the interview (which was 8AM).
The interview was a breeze - just routine fact checking questions already on the I-485 and I-130 forms were asked. The IO asked to see the wedding picture album. All through, the conversation was very friendly and pleasant. Our attorney was also present and joined in the pleasantries from time to time. That it was music (Indian classical music, i.e.) that brought me and my wife together seemed to interest the IO a lot.
Anyway, we are mighty relieved that this process is coming to an end. We were informed this AM that the card production has been ordered today (9/3).
Thanks to everyone on this forum who pitched in with suggestions and anwered our questions along the way.
Timelines are below.
