I-485 Inter-filing

Hello All,

I have Mar 2003 EB3 I-140 and 485. I filed I-485 in early june and got EAD, AP approvals. Since I have been working with my H1B company for a long time they were generous enough to offer me a EB2 I-140. They applied to port my priority date from EB3 to EB2 in June and got the EB2 approval with PD Jan 2003 early Oct.
Three weeks ago my company sent a inter-filing letter to USCIS to change my I-485 PD to EB2 Jan 2003.

The Q is what should I expect now. My lawyer says there won't be any receipts OR updates on USCIS site for interfiling cases. Is this true?
Did anyone else in the similar situation as me?

Can I expect any updates on USCIS site?
With no receipt, no ACK from USCIS I don't know what to do to make sure that my inter-filing is accepted by USCIS?
Typically how long does it take for USCIS to respond on interfiling cases since my PD is current?
Will there be any updates on my case on USCIS site OR is it only for approval/RFE updates?

Thanks

Nothing. Your attorney is correct.

Can I expect any updates on USCIS site?
May be Some LUDs.

With no receipt, no ACK from USCIS I don't know what to do to make sure that my inter-filing is accepted by USCIS?

You don't have tracking of USPS or Fedex something like that?

Typically how long does it take for USCIS to respond on interfiling cases since my PD is current?
1 to 3 months.
Will there be any updates on my case on USCIS site OR is it only for approval/RFE updates?
Try to call USCIS frequently, open SR, contact congressmen, Ask your attorney to follow-up. But give USCIS atleast 4 weeks to 6 weeks to look into ur case.

All the best.

Hi,
I got a question on I-485 interfiling. Do we need to pay I-485 filing fee again for interfiling?
Thanks for your help -

No. Not at all.

Thanks LaborBadhi.
I have not put my question properly. I filed another EB2 through a future employer. So, I will be interfiling for a different employer since i filed my EB3 I-485 for the current employer. Do i need to pay I-485 filing fee in this scenario?
Is interfiling possible for a different employer? Thanks and appreciate your time. -

LaborBadhi,

Thanks for the answers.
I don't have FedEx trcking #. My lawyer may not be willing to share it. I will wait for another month and then try to contact USCIS.
Thanks Again.

You Welcome.

Yes. You no need to file another I-485. Just send 2nd employer I-140 approval copy and current pending I-485 receipt copy with interfile request.

Attorney should very professional to write correct format of(right wordings) letter to USCIS.
