Hi,
I am married to a US citizen and I am expecting a letter for an interview. However I am very nervous for many reasons. I was married before and my application was denied for lack of evidence. I was told to appeal or refile, but i divorced my wife for legitimate reasons. Our marriage was real too. I got remarried to a great woman and I am reapplying. We have all the documents (lease, car title, bills, bank account, insurances, pictures...) that they ask for. And once again, it IS NOT A SHAM MARRIAGE. I am nervous about the first case being denied and also I had a minor legal problem: I was arrested but the case was dismissed. I am so worried about the case, it keeps me sleepless.
We sent the package on June 25, got the notices on July 7, and on the 10th, I received the fingerprint appointment letter. Is this the normal time line? some told me it came very early. When should I be expecting my EAD and green card interview? Is my nervousness and anxiety, fear...legitimate?
Thanks.

You have nothing to fear, except fear itself...

You need to provide with dates for your story and more detail of this "trouble with the law"... or, get a lawyer to advise you...

if you married in 2001 (1st time) and divorces in 2002 and you are filing again... this year, then there is no problem (or little problem anyways)... but if you married in 2007, divorced, and now married again it LOOKS like a sham marriage... have you been maintaining any kind of legal status?

Thanks Pretoria.
I don't have a legal status now, even though I am going to school for my BA. After my case was denied, I was told I could appeal or reopen it, but I didn't want to be with my ex wife anymore. So I decided no to. I married her in 2002, filed for divorce in 06, finalized in July 07. I remarried in May 08. I was arrested for selling counterfeit cds...the case was dismissed.

Do you think I might be "stoked"? I am pretty familiar with the process now, but it doesnt make it any less stressful.
Also, how long is the wait time for interviews in NYC?
Thanks for that doc, it was very helpful.

Thanks Pretoria.
I asked about Stoke because someone told me since I was married before and applied and was denied, it is very likely that I might.
As for documents to prove our marriage this time, we have plenty I think. Iwas not prepared at all the first time, I admit.

Got biometrics done today. The whole thing (including wait time) took ten minutes in manhattan! I couldn't believe it.
Now, is there anyone who is in NYC? If so, how long did you have to wait before getting EAD/Interview letter?
Thanks.
