Hello Friends,
I have a quick question for you all guys and your response will be greatly apppreciated.
--------------------------------------- Nebraska Service Centre
(My Case Info)
My Priority Date: March 04th 2004 (EB2).

I-140 Receipt Date: Aug 08th 2007 , Notice Date: Sep 18th 2007
AD:May 27 2008

I-485 Receipt Date: Aug 08th 2007 , Notice Date: Sep 18th 2007
AD:????
--------------------------------------------------------------------
On Apr 2008 I got RFE (for my I-140) from USCIS that my Experience letter does not have end date on it. SO I send them the new reference letter and on May 27th 2007 I got the I-140 Approval Notice. yes, it was really quick repsonse from them and I was surprised.
Now, I am waiting on My I-485 Approval.

Question:
------------
how to calculate how USCIS is processing I-140 or I-485 cases.

when I see USICS Website: (Processing times):-
website shows it is currently processing July 5th 2007 Cases (as of today) for I-140. but if you see my case info (from above), My I-140 reciept date is : Aug 08th 2007.

so, My question is , how the USCIS go about processing the cases on which date. Receipt date, Notice date or your Priority date. since, they already approved my I-140

Coming to my I-485:
------------------
According to the website, it is processing July 14th 2007 (As of today) for I-485. how should I calculate the procesing time with respective to my case (info given above). I am really confused.

Again, My thanks to anybody who respond to this message. Good Day.

Those processing dates on the USCIS web site for those who have visa number available (not India). You have to have visa number available first for your category from the monthly visa bulletin of the department of state web site to look and calculate your expected time. Now the date for EB2 india is ~4/2004, if the progress stay the same then you should expect yours to be after 4 years or so.

Though USCIS seems to be working on cases in a haphazard manner, it does not lack uniformity. Cases will be adjudicated (and are being adjudicated) in a sequential order - PD, RD and Country. I cannot think of all the variables that are involved in assigning a sequence number to a case, but the various cases that are being approved certainly depict a preset sequence.

Blabbering aside, your case should be processed in a few months if the dates are still open. Of course, processing a case does not necessarily mean certifying it. Processing can lead one of the many results - checks, shelving, etc.

All you (and I) can do, is be patient and wait. Or, try to get the file moved (or hope to be moved) by contacting senators, etc.

Best.

Thanks guys for your response. greatly appreciated. and I will update all you guys, If I see any movement in my case. by the way , what is LUD. can you let me know please. thanks,

Your PD is current and I-485 RD is 1 month later than the current processing time.

From my analysis of how USCIS processes files once the RD and PD is current (over the past few months) the processing time is a rough estimate. It might very well be true that you might get your GC this month, whereas I (with an RD of 06/2007) can get it approved next month.

Actually I know several cases like that personally as well as on trackitt.com

If an IO says your case has been assigned to an officer - that is the best news you can get when the PD is current.
