I want to ask a question.
Is it better to apply for my dependents green card after getting my green card/citizenship or apply right now. Their name was not in the origional petition for Asylum and so i called them to US through I-730 dependents application. Now they are here. My Green card might take another 3-4 years based on the INS dates. i can apply for them now ( they are here for last 1 year ) , but it is going to take another 5-6 years for them. But by that time i would get mine green card . The only advantage by not applying after my green card is that, then they can go to their home country even during case is in process.
What you guys suggest or any body has done that ??

Just curious, what makes you think that they could go to their home countries?

If they submit an application now, they could be reasonably sure of when they will receive their permanent residence.

If they wait for you to apply for them through the I-130 process, there is greater uncertainty. For starters, you could never know what the backlog for spounses will be when you get your green card. Now it is six years, but it could worsen.

Well , i think since their names were not in the initial petition there should not any problem in their going back and coming back. Also what i meant was that if i apply for their green card as a Citizen or PLR then there should be no problem in their going home and coming back. But i may be wrong ,that's why i shoot this question in forum.
