After the historic overturn on 7/17, Let's track cases filed in July - now that they will be accepted.

PD: Aug 2003
140 approved: April 2006
485 Filed: July 12th 2007
Receipt Date: ???

30-45 days wait for receipts

We'll have to wait till middle to end of August for a receipt notice. I will post some useful tracking information later (when it makes sense for us to call). :p

Per my attorney's office, my case was filed by 07/02/2007. Yet to hear anything on Receipt or notice dates. It is a concurrent filing of both I-140 & I-485.

Well July is the screwed up month

PD: Aug 2003
140 approved: Nov 2006
485 Filed: July 2 nd 2007

I485 filed- 07/11/2007
recieved- 07/13/2007

I just have a question, with all this fess increase and so on does that mean our cases will take much longer, will take a short while???
also my cse is a bit different, i filed for 485 last Sep and was denied(April) cos of not providing affidavit of support of my wife, thanks to gud old Lawyer. so i was advised to file again.

Babafela, Our applications will be accepted (EADs and APs) but we will get a GC only when the numbers become available for us. That depends on the # of visas, the place in the queue we are in and further retrogression. Check some threads of Prediction of Retrogression.

My application was sent on June 29th, and was hopefully be there by July 2nd. Thanks to my lawyer, it was sent by priority mail without any tracking or confirmation. I have no way to know whether it was even received.

I had called USCIS and was told that receipt notice usually takes about a month. I am planning to wait till then, and might have to send application again to make sure I don't miss the deadline.

Anyone knows the number of applications USICS might receive during this period? Is there anybody else like me..frequently checking his/her bank account to see if their checks are cashed.

And if you care to answer, is it a standard practice for laywers to send such important applications without tracking?

!!!

Very irresponsible of your lawyer to send without tracking. But, what's done is done. Statistically speaking, 1 out of every 1 million mail gets lost. So, yours may have reached safely I daresay. But, this time it might take them longer to encash it since they have been receiving 100s of applications everyday. So, I guess you'll have to wait - mostly for more than a month...

Thanks SunnyRay21

485 Filed: June 29 2007
485 Receipt Date: ??

BTW, heard from my lawyers office they have received notices for applications sent day or two before mine. I assume these are probably June applications when things were still normal. I hope I am wrong.

I have filed my 485 in july 2007 with my current address

>My job requires me to move to a different state after a month or so.I do not have new address yet.

If I move after 485 filing does it affect my filing in any way?If yes,How?

What do I need to do about this sitiuation.

I have a (dumb?) question: How does one know if the 485 was receipted?

Hi all, As you know, my 485 was filed on July 10th and probably reached them in couple of days. Can you tell me how does one know what the RD (Receipt Date) is? Will the lawyer receive the receipt or will I receive an email about it?

Also, what is a ND? Notice Date? is yes, notice of what?

Thanks for the responses! SunnyRay21

My lawyer is the one who receives mail from USCIS. I suggest you ask your lawyer.

Your notice date is the date USCIS input your information into the system and your receipt date will be the day the USCIS mailroom received/stamped your file.

This is all I know. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me guys.

Sunnyray21,
See question 22 in Latest FAQ posted by USCIS
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/FAQ2.pdf

Q22: What will be the receipt date for employment-based adjustment applications filed between July 2, 2007 – July 17, 2007?

A22: In accordance with standard procedure, USCIS will generate receipt notices for all properly filed employment-based adjustment applications based on the date the applications were physically received by USCIS.
