I-485 filed for 60 days, received EAD, but got laid off.

Is this EAD valid, can it be used to work ? Should I transfer my H1 instead of using EAD ? The company plans to hire me back, does that make a difference ?

yes, your EAD is valid.

if i140 is not cleared then transfer would be a much safe option.
otherwise both are ok.

i-140 not cleared because it's a concurrent filing. Is it better to find a job like yesterday, or just sit and wait and see what happens.
 
Sorry Jaxen. I meant should

1. I sit around until the 180 days have passed so that I can technically use the EAD (or transfer H1)
2. Should I use the EAD now to get a job
3. Transfer my H1 to a new company

The reason I ask, is if I do get a job ASAP (and use 2 or 3), then INS will definitely know I have not crossed the 180 days when I get a new job.

By the time ins takes your file, it would be more than 180 days.
you can then use AC21. (for more info search this forum on AC21)

So get a job ASAP by using 2 or 3.
