I-485 Filed: Finger Printing Done: No sign of Approval Yet(Past 600 days). LAID OFF!!!

   I filed for my I-485 in Nov \'99. [EB3]. I even finished my Finger printing in Feb 2001. I havent got my approval yet. It keeps saying that this process takes some like 365 to 540 days. Its already 600 Days now since I filed my I-485. To top it all I get to know that I am laid off. A friend of mine who recently started his company has offered me to keep my GC active. But, he has no clue what he has to do. Where should I start. I live in NJ. If I get a client in CA am I authorised to work there? (Any LOC problem?). My EAD is valid for the next six months. What is the best way for me to proceed.? Any tip would be most appreciated.

Join your friend\'s company with EAD. You can choose to work with EAD anywhere once you have completed 180 days after filing 485.

Go for it. Also read AC21 law and recent Memo thouroughly and call murthy or khanna to see if you will hv problem with LC.

Make sure you renew EAD in time with VSC.

Don\'t worry!! There is a chance that you might get the approval witout any RFE. In the mean time look for the job in the same field. Or join your friend\'s company using your EAD. Even if you get RFE for employment letter, Your friend can give you the letter in whatever the way you want. If you get RFE for paystubs, you will have two months time to answer the RFE. Then you know how to get on to the Payroll....

I am the very same boat. My details are EB2/RIR/ND 02/1/00. Waiting for approval, My contract got over currently I am on loss of pay. I have an EAD, I do not know whether to continue on loss of pay or to run the payroll thru one of my friens company. Currently I am Milwukee but my friends company is in CA. I am not sure if that could be a problem. Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions
