I-485 file or not to file ? Please help

Hi,
My situation is as follows:
1) approved RIR labor 2002
2) approved perm labor 2005
3) approved i-140 2006 (PD 2005)
4) ALL of above for company-A. 2006 company-B took over.

My lawyer said i cannot file and have to start again with new labor as merger/acquistion was 'asset only' type.

I want to self-file i-485 giving the company "name change" letter as the only proof along with the rest of regular documents. Company-B employer is in 100% support of my application.

SHOULD I just waste $$$$ money and take a chance ? PLEASE HELP...TIRED OF WAITING FOR LAST 5 years

Ravi.. its really sad if all this effort go wasted..
I think the I-485 filing fees is not that much as compared to 5 yrs of time..
A supporting document from company name change is good idea. wihsiful thinking .. may be u can try... consult someone in rajeev khanna or sheela murthy may be they know a way!
 
I believe sometime back I made some suggestions to you or someone with a similar name.

You need an approved I-140 with PD of 2002 to gain advantage else you can still file but with PD of 2005.

You should get your I-140 amended with PD of 2002 or file another I-140 with old labor stating the name change of company. If this works you can be sure.

Going 485 route is going to give PD stamped on I-140 and no amount of documentation would help.

Again I am not a lawyer so take an opinion from Rajiv Khanna or some other established lawyer and then take the decision.
