I-485 Denied :( What Should I Do Help Please

after a long wait i received this letter today telling me that my application was denied this is what it said

on February 27, 2009, you responded to request by submitting: a copy of the joint sponsor's permanent resident card, a completed form i-864 for the petitioner, copies of the petitioners W-2s for the most recent tax year, a copy of the petitioner birth certificate, driver license and social security card, and copies of the joint sponsors w-2 for the year 2006, 2007, and 2008 tax year.. you failed to submit: the petitioner and joint sponsors federal income tax return documentation for the most recent tax year, which would have been the 2007 tax year. as you have submitted a partial response, you have resquested a decision based on the records.....


now my question is isnt the federal income tax the same as the w-2?? im confuse que somebody show me how a federal income tax looks like and how do u get one!!...

it also said::

if you desired to file a motion, you most do so on form i-290b within 30 days from the date of this notice \\

any suggestion

I feel sorry for you, but you should have asked this question before you sent your rfe documents, especially if you were not sure. You'd better ask and be sure than sorry. W2's are not tax returns. Even just a simple google would have saved you this agony.

A W2 is "A W-2 is a standard tax form showing the wages paid to an employee and the taxes withheld during the calendar
year. It is prepared by an employer for each employee"

A tax return is a document filed with state or federal authorities that declares your (the taxpayer) liability for being taxed, based on your yearly income.
Call IRS, they will send you transcripts of your tax returns.
 
it takes up to 2 weeks wow i only got 3 week this is going to be hard im heading to a lawyer right now
 
Go to a lawyer immediately. He should be able to have the date postpone in order for you to gather all documents.
 
get a copy from your sponsor and the joint sponsor. They filed taxes, right? so, they can make a copy of their 1040 tax forms....
