Sorry to hear about your case, but be brave everything will be fine.
Coming to the best lawyer, As far as my feelings are Rajiv Khanna is the one who can go in detail with you. First ask him whether he can give enough time to this case. He and his staff has good knowledge of how things work. Try to take an appointment asap. Here is his number:
703-908-4800 press "0" wait for front office and tell him/her the case and request for earliest appt.
Right now what you need is courage, Don\'t be panic. Try to be peaceful and think. Do not take agressive steps. And as someone said try to contact Director, Paul novak. He is a gentleman. If possible, take a chance to meet him by appointment.

that may well be true. I do not know. However, if my file did go for CP then it would be rejected as it would not have the corresponding forms.
Of-course, since I do not know the reason why any of this occurred, I could be totally off mark. Just guessing...

Hi, this may help a lot of people.
I know there are a lot of questions on this board about working on expired EADs. I did meet with a good lawyer today, and put this question to him.
He told me that it does NOT have any impact on I-485.
I will NOT give you the name of the lawyer, just because that may be his suggestion to help us out, rather than his interpretation of the law (joke!!), but apart from that will try to answer questions asked.
