I am so worried about what I saw under USCIS case status last night and I need someone to calm me down.. Here is my story....
I have been granted an asylum on 2003.. On november 2006 my mother and I filled for I-485 to adjust status.. my mother recived her GC on January of 2007 (3 month after filling)... since then I am waiting on mine ..and I have never left the country for a single day.. Yesterday,, I checked my status online and found this shocking thing:
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Denial Notice Sent
On February 29, 2008, we mailed you a denial decision notice for this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. The notice explains why the denial decision was made and the options that may be available to you. If you have not received this notice within 30 days of the February 29, 2008, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.
Sooo, I don't know what could be the reason behind this denial...
first thing that I thought of is :I never had an interview "this is the first time to know that you need an interview for GC!!!"
Another thing is that I had a big traffic accident back on 2005 and somehow it ended up with a criminal record and later when I hired a lawyer he was easily able to get it removed from the record because it was a mistake in the first place... my attorney advised me not to mention it if for any reason been asked about "been convicted or have a criminal record or anything that nature" because it has been completely removed. It is not showing up when we requested a background check..I am currently working for a company that requires a clean background and criminal record and this is what really made me confident about this... so now I am kind of worried ..
I want to know if I can appeal if this was the case??
I am thinking about making an InfoPass appointment to get more info..do you think this is a good idea?
am I going to lose my asylum status??
I am very worried and I can't wait to get the letter..should I call USCIS and request to speak to IO?
Thank you in advance
