Hi my I-485 case was transferred to my local INS (Chicago) on 1/9/02 for adjustment of status processing. Anyone know what it means to have your case transferred to your local INS office?

Same here !

My wifes case has been transfered to INS Chicago on Feb 20, 2002. We have still not recieved the Transfer Letter.

In about 6 - 8 months from now, INS Chicago will schedule an appointment for interview to look at the file and then make
a decision on the case.

I am not a lawyer and I do not know more than what I mentioned above.

Keep the thread active with any more transfer notices, interview appointments etc ...

Lawyer said 6 - 8 Months

Lawyer said it will take 6-8 months to get an interview from INS Chicago.

Though the transfer notice says that it has been transfered for Speed Processing it infact takes looooooooonger time ....
