I-485 Case transferred to Local processing center

Hi all,

I need some expert advice on the following:

My I485 (and I-140) was filed concurrently at the VSC (Category EB3/Substituted Labor). RD for I485 was October 10, 2002. I-140, EAD, AP have all been since approved.

I then moved to Chicago last year and notified the USCIS of the change of address. I checked the online status yesterday and it states that my case has been transferred to the local processing center in Chicago, IL and that I would be called upon for an interview.

Now my issue is this:

As per the online information regarding the timeframe for processing applications, the Chicago, IL office is currently processing I-485 applns. with a RD of August 7, 2001. Now that my case has been transferred locally, does it mean that it will go all the way down the pile until they reach October 2002 or am I at some sort of advantage since VSC has already "blessed" my file and sent it over?

Seniors of this forum: Please make may day by giving me some encouraging information!!!

Thank you all!

hi gcinus,

could u let us know if u changed the employer? (AC21?)

good luck and welcome to the Windy City! :)

yes, I have changed employer . .but have not invoked AC21 yet.

Question: Should I do that at this point in time? Or wait until later.
