Case has been transferred to Local San Antonio Office.

The Web Site says:
On January 22, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in SAN ANTONIO, TX for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in SAN ANTONIO, TX will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Questions:
1)What does this mean? Why a transfer to local office?
2)Any Idea how long will it take for interview and what kind of interview would it be?
3)Any one has any similiar experience?

Transfers could happen due to anything. Some of the reasons being

1)TSC’s way of reducing backlog is to transfer to local offices
2)They were lazy to send an RFE and then follow up

and so on. Nothing to get afraid of. Call the San Antonio office and find out which dates they are processing currently. That would give you an idea of when you might get the interview. Please post the details back in the forum
For the interview you have to take all the details/paperwork in case they ask for it. Just be prepared and not worried.

any more movement about the transfer? My case got transfered to. god knows when the waiting ends.

our case got transfered to San Antonio also

Just find out our cases was transfered to San Antonio yesterday.Dont know why. No job change, no address change, nothing special. Does any one know how long will take San Antonio to schedule an interview?

Thanks:(

There is no theory, why they send cases to local offices. They just do head / tell. Head --> approve it or issue RFE (if unlucky) , TAIL ---> get rid of workload send it to local office. No logic whatsoever ................

SA processing Sept. 17, 2003, as of 2/3/04

My family's file were also transferred to SA in 11/03.
I checked yesterday (2/3/04) and was told their current date was Sept. 17, 2003.

I was also told to wait another month before...calling back to check on their progress...

Anybody who went through an approval after being transferred to SA, please post on this forum your respective dates. This should help many of us estimate some sort of average processing time. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
damerina

how did you find telephone number for local office. I could not find the one for Charlotte , NC anywhere?

I called the national number only...

The national center is able to provide you the current date of local offices, and that's about it. They do not have access to your individual file and do not know about local offices cycle time either...

SA local office does not provide a phone access to inquire about individual cases. I was told however that you can go there in person and ask for a status on your case. If you don't mind the drive...it might be worth considering...

damerina --- Cuurent date???

Current date is Sep 17- What does that mean?

Does it mean San Antonio center is processing cases transferred around Sep17th ?

If thats true- There is a waiting of approx 4 months.
Am I going right here?

I got different answer from different resources. Please see the thread "Case transfered to local office. What to do next?"

Any one scheduled interview in San Antonio,

Please pose your experience. Does anyone know San Antonio office phone number?

thanks,

No Numbers available for enquiries

I think you have to visit them at SA office- I still doubt they would entertain. But s its worth a try if you live close by.

3-4 month for SA to schedule an interview

Just got an email from my lawyer said it will take San Antonio 3-4 months to schedule an interview after received transfered files from TSC.

TSC sucks big time!

Thanks tsc77...We will see...

Thanks for the info tsc77.

I guess I will be able to tell soon if your lawyer is right or not: I entered my third month after transfer to SA, so if he's right, I should hear from SA by either the end of this month or the end of March...

As far as my paralegal is concerned, she said that, based on the various cases her law office has handled and the way things "work" in Texas BCIS offices, they could not come up with a clear pattern of approval or average processing time when it comes to "Texas" (a.k.a. TSC crap)...appears totally random, defying any logic...I would simply add my personal quote to it: "TSC processing is totally out of whack"...

The funny part (or I should say the sad part in this) is that she even mentioned to me, this was the reason why she herself "moved out of Texas". I did not ask for more details, but that speaks volume to me....

So, let's all prey for the best and hope...
And I sure do hope that your lawyer is right! :D

Cheers,
damerina

my lawyer suggest me to go to the local office after a month of transter to talk to officials there. There may be a chance to get the interview schedualled earlier. I do not know if it is true.

mine is EB2 NIW case. According to some friends here and my lawyer, it is quite common to get transfered. But I know at least one of my friend who also has NIW case got approved directly.

EB1 OR

Nothing changed, dont know why??? Mindless TSC.

damerina,

It may take 3 - 4 months AFTER SA received your
transfered files. It could take 1 month for TSC to transfer a file. And the interview usualy scheduled 4 weeks after. You do the math...

I received a tranfer notice from TSC for my wife, not for myself yet. Does San Antonio suppose send
us notice after transfered files received? Did you got one yet?

Thanks,

TSC77
