did you get anything in snail-mail (real postal mail) at all?
I got my welcome notice on 12/15/07 in my mail, 5 days after the email.
12/19/07 i just got my approval notice sent email

In my case, i waited 5 years for my employer to file LC.

In my case I too waited 5 years (1997 to 2001) for my employer to file LC. My employer made sure that the LC filed only after Apri 2001. It took 4 years for the LC approval in New York State and now its been 3 years (since 2005) my I 485 is pending with USCIS. (Background check and FBI name check delay is only the first weapon for USCIS to pass on the blame. My priority date was current in Jun 2005, Jun 2007 and July 2007. Now waiting for the priority date to become current.

On the other hand, I know some friends personally, who came to US in 2004, used sub LC and got GC in 2005. Its all luck and luck favors whom?????????.
